SSAFA Branch Big Brew Up 2010 This year, Cyprus Branch held two Big Brew Ups. One was held in a care home in Larnaca and the other at the SSAFA 10K Challenge in Episkopi. Larnaca: Eastern Coordinator Bill Hatfield held a Tea Party at the Destalo Care Home in Larnaca which is used by Branch when accommodation is needed at that end of the island. A lone piper came along A total of €250 was raised during the afternoon. Episkopi: SSAFA HQ held their annual 10K Challenge and Branch decided with all those thirsty and hungry runners and walkers around, a bacon and burger BBQ next to a tea, coffee and cold drinks stall might just be what was needed. Sodexo provided the tea and coffee makings for free and a local butchery company provided the bacon and burgers at a marvellous trade price. In total the SSAFA Chefs cooked 190 rolls and the drinks ladies spent all morning topping up the Burco Boiler. €560 was taken on the morning and Aphrodite Hills kindly donated a further €300 to support the event. Therefore Cyprus Branch took a total of €1,110 for the Big Brew Up initiative.    as did some traditional dancers.
