Branch Treasurer: Major David Lamplugh (Retd) David Lamplugh initially joined the Royal Corps of Transport in 1971 and after a short period, attended RMA Sandhurst whereupon he was commissioned into the Royal Artillery. Like most people in that era he saw service in BAOR, Northern Ireland and the UK. He left the Army in 1982 only to join the TA shortly after. With the RA TA he served in Bosnia, for a total of two and half years, Iraq in the second Gulf War and Afghanistan at HQ (ISAF), Kabul. He finally retired fully from the Army in 2004 and moved to Cyprus to enjoy his retirement in 2010. The job of Treasurer is to keep the Branch accounts and arrange for the annual audit. Money received for clients from the various benevolent and Regimental funds is usually received in sterling, either by cheque  of credit transfer, and is paid into the Branch holding account. When the payment is “cleared” it is transferred into the Branch current account. The Secretary then issues a Payment Authorisation Form and the money is dispersed to the client. The payment can be made direct to the client or can be via the Caseworker, depending on the wishes of the benevolent fund. It can also be in the form of a one-off grant or an annuity which is normally paid every three months. There is an Assistant Treasurer, Maggie Muir and between the them, they staff the Branch Office on a Wednesday The Treasurer can be contacted at branchtreas@ssafa-cyprus.org
