SSAFA Garden Party At 13.00 on Saturday 28th May 2011, SSAFA Branch held a Garden Party at the Destalo Care Home, Dhekelia Road, Larnaca. The afternoon was open to local residents and of course residents of the Care Home. Over one hundred people turned up to sample food from the new SSAFA Branch BBQ. The team had travelled all the way from Episkopi to serve up Hot Dogs and Hamburgers. Also available was a selection of cakes, wine, tea, coffee and soft drinks. The day was organised by SSAFA Branch Eastern Island Co-ordinator, Bill Hatfield and his wife Penny, with help from local SSAFA Volunteers Keeping everyone entertained was Chris Andre who performed magnificently all afternoon and even better as far as our Charity is concerned, he performed for free! The total amount of profit raised on the day was €835.76.
