SSAFA 125 Charity Golf Open and Family Day
On the 24th October SSAFA held a Charity Golf Open Competition and Family Day.
72 people attended to take part in a 4 ball competition. As usual it was a sunny day and everyone
enjoyed their time on this unique course. This year 8 holes were sponsored to a tune of €125 a hole.
The final scores are set out below.
At the same time a Family Day took place. There was a bouncy castle and face painting for the kids
along with a children’s putting competition. For everyone a competition was held on the driving range.
Each person had to hit a ball as close to the 125 meter pin as possible. The nearest at the end of
the day won €125.
A wine tasting session was laid on by Monolithos Winery, Pachna who brought with them some
excellent wine that was enjoyed by all.
Most visitors and golfers also availed themselves of the full English breakfast which was on sale
all day for only €1.25 a head. The SSAFA volunteers started cooking at 10.00 and didn’t stop until 16.30!
Finally a Grand raffle was drawn. There were prizes of a free return flight donated by Cyprus Airways to anywhere in the world
that they fly, another prize was a 4 ball with buggy donated by Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort. There were a total of 28 prizes donated.
Control Photography flew out from the UK specifically to attend the event and took all the photos on the day. To receive a copy of
all the photos taken simply contact the Branch Publicity Officer who will tell you how to download them.
