Saturday 17th July saw over six hundred rock fans descend on the Pissouri Amphitheatre.
People came from all over Cyprus to enjoy five different bands.
The first band was a group called “13 Beats Off”, from the Heritage School in Limassol on
what was their last gig before they all left the school to continue their studies elsewhere.
They were followed by “Wanderlust”, a Cypriot Band who were well received by the large
Cypriot following that they brought with them.
The third band were “No Off Switch”. These guys were all local to Pissouri and did a fantastic
job entertaining the crowd. They got a huge round of applause and calls for more when their
set came to end.
Next were the second Cypriot band of the night “The Low Spark”. They also had a huge and
enthusiastic Cypriot following and introduced the non-Cypriot rock fans to what modern
Cypriot music has to offer.
The Headline act was “Ride On”. They are a massive AC/DC tribute band and they flew out from the UK especially for this gig.
They had many of the fans dancing either in their seats or, for the more demonstrative, on the dance floor.
All too soon the night was over (perhaps not too soon for local residents)and as people were leaving, they generously threw a
total of €346.91 into the collection buckets of volunteers of SSAFA Forces Help. These same volunteers had earlier helped
with the car parking in the area for which a further €200 was donated by the organisers.
The total raised in the evening was €546.91
