CYPRUS

WE PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL, COMPREHENSIVE AND CONFIDENTIAL SUPPORT TO THE FORCES AND THEIR FAMILIES, DURING THEIR TIME IN CYPRUS.

At SSAFA we recognise that being posted abroad can be challenging. Our Personal & Family Support Service is here to work with you to provide confidential assistance and advice in a welfare capacity.

Although outside the chain of command,* with your agreement, the team work closely with the welfare side of the military and have a good understanding of service policy. * The exceptions to confidentiality are where it is considered that there may be a risk to your own safety or to the safety of others.

Our civilian Personal & Family Support Workers are trained to specifically provide an in-depth, confidential and impartial welfare service. We have three full-time Personal & Family Support Workers on island who have extensive experience and expertise in providing community support in a military environment.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

Working both independently and alongside MOD welfare and community support networks, our Personal & Family Support Team offer advice, support and guidance in the following areas:

      • Financial difficulty
      • Housing
      • Resettlement
      • Return to the UK
      • Redundancy
      • Mental health and wellbeing
      • Relationship issues
      • Family issues

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR HELP?

All serving personnel, single or accompanied, and their family members living within BFC are eligible for support. The service is confidential, outside the chain of command* and non-discriminatory.

WHO WE WORK WITH

In order to provide a comprehensive service we link in with other welfare organisations that may be able to offer a more tailored service.

        • Home Start for family support,
        • Solutions for relationship support
        • CEAS for advice on education and schooling.
        • We can link into the SSAFA Service Volunteers who are able to provide support for families and individuals in many different areas.

We also work closely with the welfare side of the Military and have a good understanding of Service Policy.
