SSAFA’s PS&SWS recognised for Customer Service Excellence

Congratulations to our colleagues in the Personal Support & Social Work Service (PS&SWS). They have once again been awarded the hallmark for Customer Service Excellence (CSE).
The prestigious government accreditation has been given for the third year running in recognition of the PS&SWS’ deep understanding of, and commitment to, delivering a high standard of customer service.

The PS&SWS is run by trained social care practitioners, Senior Social Workers and Managers with a special focus on services for children, young people, adults and their families. The teams work closely with the all military personnel/agencies to enhance the support given under MOD duty of care.

Providing comprehensive and confidential support services to personnel and their families, PS&SWS staff help them overcome and face the unique challenges associated with the military, such as deployments, long-term separation and frequent moves. Overseas they are in addition the statutory body for protecting children and adults from abuse/harm.

The services include:
• PS&SWS in Cyprus, Brunei, Falkland Islands and for the RAF in the UK
• Joint social work service in Gibraltar
• Adoption service
• Bereaved families and sibling support groups

About the CSE
The CSE standard (previously the Charter Mark) measures the areas which are a priority for customers. Being awarded the standard involves a rigorous assessment of a variety of areas including service delivery, timeliness, information provided, professionalism and staff attitude.
The PS&SWS team was initially awarded this prestigious award in 2012 and prior to this it was awarded the Charter Mark, demonstrating a long-term standard of excellence which lies at the heart of everything they do.
