Child Health Nurses ensure that any child with a chronic condition or those who may require medication in school have an individual school health care plan.
At school entry all Foundation Stage Two pupils are offered height screening, weight screening and audio testing. This is done in the autumn term.
The national height and weight measurements programme for the year six pupils is carried out in the summer term.
Child Health Nurses take part in the school PSHE programme. They also provide training to school staff on diabetes, asthma, epi pen use (anaphylaxis) and epilepsy.
We offer advice to individuals and groups/immunisation & vaccination programmes.
The School Health Clinic has a ‘drop in’ facility for all students to talk on a confidential basis.
These valuable clinics offer advice and support to pupils on a variety of health topics including smoking cessation, sexual health, healthy eating and healthy lifestyles.
